In 2007 MJA was engaged to rejuvenate Hotel Rottnest, a venue well known to Western Australians on the banks of Thompsons Bay.
The project involved extending the bar area out into a shaded courtyard and re-establishing the kiosk bar over Tuart decking, together with furnishing the lawn and outdoor performance space. The finished project has delivered a facility with vastly improved functionality and ambience.
Working with heritage architects Kelsall Binet, the historic Governor’s Residence and hotel’s service facilities have been restored and upgraded. The residential accommodation and staff quarters have also been renovated as part of this new era for Hotel Rottnest.
